Flamengo talks Dani Alves hopes to sign. Dani Alves, the veteran right-back of the Brazilian national team, is looking for a new club. After canceling his contract with Sao Paulo in the past few days. Among the interest from rival team Flamengo
AS claims that Flamengo, a club based in Rio de Janeiro, have begun talks with representatives of the former Barcelona defender to reach an agreement.
Flamengo vice-president Marco Braz said: ” The team has always been mindful of the market.”
Nonetheless, one thing Braz will have to deal with is Alves’ wages. As it was the problem that led to his termination of his contract with Sao Paulo.
Sao Paulo sporting director Carlos Belmonte said: “We have been informed by his representative that Dani Alves will not return to Sao Paulo until payment has been made. The team has left the players.”
“Sao Paulo is fully aware of that debt. And last week we made a proposal to try and fix it.”
“The offer has not been accepted by agents and players.”
If Flamengo can sign Alves, he will be joining forces with former Arsenal defender David Luiz, who has just arrived.
